The idea of having a “paperless” office is a trending topic among of many business owners. The ability to never lose a document, share information, and control access; it is easy to see why so many businesses are attempting to ditch paper and embrace technology.  The simple truth is that going “paperless” may not be the best strategy for your office. For the appropriate office going “paperless” is a dream come true, for the wrong office it can be a workflow overhaul that garners little benefits.  Ask yourself and your staff the following questions to see if going “paperless” is right for your business.

Join Sue Straughn from Channel 3 News to “Take the First Footsteps to a Forever Family” on Nov.12, 2011. The event starts at the Gulf Coast Kid’s House at 10 a.m. The walking course is 1.5 mile walk starting on 3401 N. 12th where guests walk down 13th street to Hayes St. for six blocks and then down Magnolia to turn down N. 20th St. to Bayview Park. Visitors can park cars at Bayview Park and catch a trolley from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. so when guest finish the walk they will end up right back at their cars. There will be food, cake, music, plenty of children activities, tons of fun, and long sleeve t-shirts for the first 250 registrants. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at Tiger Point

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society are hosting the Annual Andy Ballinger Memorial Golf Tournament at Tiger Point Country Club and Sunset Grill Thursday, November 17th, 2011. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society are benefiting the efforts for lifesaving research and to support people who are battling cancer. Registration and lunch begin at 11:00 a.m. with shotgun start at noon. Anyone can play with teams of 4 players minimum. The cost for each team is $400 and all proceeds go directly to the patient aid, patient services, and research to find a cure. More information can be found at www.tigerpointclub.com 

Pensacola State College Professional Faculty Art Gallery

The Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts is showing an art exhibition featuring work designed by professional staff of the visual arts. The Exhibition will start on Oct. 31 to Dec. 14 in building 15 on the Pensacola Campus. Highlights work created by the staff representing a large array including ceramics, drawing, digital imaging, graphic design, jewelry, painting, photography, and sculpture. Admission to the gallery is free and you can make tour arrangements prior to your visit. The Galley will be open from 8am - 9pm Mon-Thurs and 8am-3:30pm on Fridays. Self Salon & Skin Coutoure Hosts “Boobies Rock” Benefit Party

Self Salon and Skin Coutoure along with the Gulf Coast Entertainment App network hosts “Boobies Rock” benefit party. All proceeds from the event will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation through Ouidad’s ‘Curls For a Cure’.  Entertainment includes live music by Brooks Hubbert, Limozine and Tribe Zion. Light hors D’oeuvres, beverages and chair massages are also provided.

Italian artist Spinelli visits Pensacola

Italian artist, Andrea Spinelli will give a demonstration of fresco painting which includes preparing, laying mortar and transferring a drawing onto fresh lime and painting. Spinelli is a Renaissance inspired artist from Florence and will provide videos about inventions he devised and built for art.

All is welcome to this free event. It takes place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the Anna Lamar Switzer Center for Visual Arts, Building 15 on the Pensacola campus.

Andy Ballinger Memorial Golf Tournament

The first annual Andy Ballinger Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17 at Tiger Point Country Club and Sunset Grill. All the proceeds from the event go to the efforts for lifesaving research and support for people battling cancer.

This event is expected to have a large turn out, but sponsors are still needed. There is no better way to show support for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society while connecting with people and businesses in the community.  Several different sponsor options are available and no contribution is too small.
